Hydrocolloid Dressing
Descriptions
The hydrocolloid dressing is a polyester lattice support (tulle) impregnated with hydrocolloid, packed in a sterile individual envelope.
Composition
The hydrocolloid dressing is a polyester lattice support (tulle) impregnated with hydrocolloid particles dispersed in a paraffin base.
Properties
- • In contact with the wound exudate, the hydrocolloid particles create a gelifying contact layer which assure a contact interface that creates favourable conditions for the healing process in a moist environment.
• Due to the properties of the impregnation base, the interface does not adhere to the wound or the perilesional area and the replacement of the hydrocolloid dressing is painless and atraumatic.
• Due to its flexible shape, this dressing can also be used for wounds within a difficult location (anatomical folds).
Indications
The hydrocolloid dressing is recommended in the local treatment of moderately exudative acute wound (burns, dermal abrasions, traumatic wounds) and chronic (ulcers, bedsores), in the granulation and epithelialization phase.
